Sundays are made for...

...making a cup of tea, turning on easy listening on the radio, and starting a scrapbook layout.  Since Logan was with his grandparents and Chris was  out for a bit I took advantage of the alone time to finish reading my mags and then start the scrapbook layouts for next month. I started at home and finished at Chris' dads house...Here's the final product (my camera gives these pages no justice)

Taking these pictures reminded me of how badly I need to invest in an easel and/or better camera.  Anyways I used the pictures from the day Logan was born...The technique taught for this layout was using a distressing tool like the one below.
The tool allows the paper to be frayed and curled, which looked further distressed when using a stamp pad (any color...I chose stamp colors Cocoa and Sweet Leaf sold by Close to My Heart).  I used glitter made by Martha Stewart to embellish the butterfly on the second page and Stickle glitter for the butterfly on the first.  The die cuts were made using the Cricket, however, since I didn't cut them myself I don't know which font box was used.
I picked up a copy of House and Home yesterday and fell in love with this fabric:

It's a bit expensive at $215 a yard but I love it...I saw this on a chair that had been upholstered using this fabric!  I wish I could post the chair but I can't find it.  Then I saw these chairs that looked fun and well I loved them too =)  Relaxation and fun are what Sundays were made for ♥

{{Lazy}} Saturday

I spent an entire, well almost entire, day in my bed under the covers watching movies and reading today!!!! Snowfall, dinner and a Barnes and Noble run with Chris ended the perfect night. I miss Logan soo much and I can't wait to pick him up tomorrow!! I picked up the current issues of Parent and House & Home, not to mention I got the recent Parenting mag in the mail! I'm in love with magazines right now, and I don't know why. I even got to finish my book, giving me the opportunity to start another one tomorrow.   We were supposed to go to Smithville tomorrow, but with the snow that they got down there and the FREEZING cold, we skipped the idea...We'll just have to go another time.  I'm scrapping tomorrow, so when I'm done with the finished project I will post it up =) Nite.

Thursday's Loves

I went on Anthropologie's website to find scarves, which are my ultimate accessory love, and found these hair accessories that I really want now! I don't have a love for hair accessories but I saw these and I really really want them!

$10 from Anthropologies

$32 Anthropologie

$18 Anthropologie
Handbags are MY LOVES! There's no way to say it otherwise! I have a bin full of them and I love each and everyone of them!   I love this one...It would bring a pop to an all black outfit, suit or casual dress!

$108 Anthropologie

So that's what I found that I really liked...I've never really navigated the site until today and wanted to share my faves! Grey's tonight! ♥

Christopher Moore

I read tons and tons and tons of books! I love reading it's one of my favorite things in the world. It's the outlet for imagination and whatnot. I usually don't have favorite authors because I tend to read whatever strikes me as a cool cover (yes, I'm the one that judges books, literal ones, by their cover). I have to say though that I do have at least one favorite author and that's Christopher Moore. I loved the one book I read by him called Lamb. I felt weird reading it at first because of the topic but when I started reading it I felt various emotions and not one was weird or sad or ashamed. This book made me feel closer to Jesus than any CCD session had, but I warn you, if you want to read this book you have to keep an open mind. Moore portrays Jesus as a teenager and early twenty-something trying to identify with who he is and what he must do. He has the character say things that some people would downright consider blasphemous but it is simply another person's view of what could've been. The next book I'm reading is on a completely different topic and I think I chose it because I just came off of reading New Moon. It's called Bloodsucking Fiends, hopefully I'll see the same humor and wit as I did with the book I previously read by Moore.

Logan's 10 Month Visit

Logan went to the doctor's today for his 10 month well appt.  It's been 10 months since I've been doing this and no matter what I always have mixed emotions.  I'm excited because I get to see how much he's grown and get to gush about his milestones, early or late, and voice my concerns about things that have happened, are happening, or that haven't happened! Yet there's always a knot in my throat because I know that he needs to get his shots and no ONE wants their baby to cry and be poked with needles, even if it's for good.

SO anyways, Logan had his last Hep B shot (WOOT WOOT!) and he had his final dose of the flu shot (WOOT WOOT!!) Then it happened....they told me that at this appt. they test for lead and do a CBC using, you guessed it, Logan's blood! My options were to take him to an outside lab where they would look for the vein and do it the way we adults get blood taken or I could pay $30, have it done in the office and they would only prick his finger and take the blood that way. Well, duh, I took my second option, no need to traumatize my son to save myself $30! That sucked too because when they were done collecting the blood they told me to apply pressure to stop the bleeding! Um, I want to console my crying baby and I have to stop the bleeding myself? Ugh, t did eventually stop and I didn't apply the pressure as told to do because pressing his finger made him cry harder so I just sat there with him until it stopped. Other than that he did really well at his doctor's appt. weighing in at 21.5 pounds and measuring at 28 3/4" and his head was a whopping 41 cm.

Obviously this isn't today but this is what he looks like after his drs. appt. Worn out!

Found a new love: Country Living ♥

Yesterday was Chris's first day back from his 48 hour trip to Memphis for that job interview. He said everything went really well and we should hear back by the end of next week! Woo!! Can't wait, I really hope he gets it even though it'll mean moving out of New Jersey but I think we're ready for the challenge!  Anyways, we went to several places to return stuff and get stuff for the Lemon-Basil Potatoes that I saw Giada de Laurentiis make on the Food Network! They were amazing and just as good as she made it seem on tv!

While we on line at ShopRite I saw the cover for Country Living magazine and I wanted it because of everything on the front cover.  But we were in a rush to get out of there because it was freaking CRAZY.  Anyways we went to Target to return gifts that Logan had already received and I went straight to the magazine section and picked it up, along with my other FAVORITE magazine, Real Simple.  I was so excited and I wanted to get to reading it as soon as I came home but I had to first, make the taters and then his cousin brought over 2 of his 3 girls for us to watch! So needless to say I didn't get to the mag until 11 pm! But once I opened it I was in LOVE. These are the things that I would love, love, love to have in Memphis or wherever we end up living, hopefully!

This was painted in "Saffron" and was $159 from Gothic Cabinet Craft

These decorative birdcages were awesome too! They're only $38 and are from Great Rooms Decor.

These mum napkin rings are adorable and they weren't the exact same ones in the mag but still close and for the same price of $2.95 from Pier 1 Imports.

This print I love for a dining room and/or kitchen.  It's 18 pounds or the US equivalent of $28.99.

These prints are cute to and are from Keep Calm Gallery a U.K. based company! The one above, coffee, is 20 pounds or the US equivalent of $32.21, as per the conversion done on XE.com.

And last but not least these creamers, from Pigeon Toe Ceramics.com, at $8 each, are cute and the neat thing about these is that there are 13 different colors to choose from, giving you the ability to match it up to your dinnerware, or almost match it up!

So there ya have it! Boy this was probably my longest but insightful post. At least I know where I can find these items if I lose the magazine! =)  ♥ I love lazy sundays!!

The Inflatable Firetruck

Logan was given an inflatable firetruck for Christmas by his Uncle Matt & Aunt Tierney.  The firetruck came with 25 balls that are soft and they're like the balls at the ball station at ChuckeeCheese's...Anyway it's meant to be sat in and play with the balls and whatnot but my son has figured out other ways to play with the firetruck.

Here's one example...He's hanging out the exit spot laying on his side, chewing on his ball, and watching TV...

Then there's him hanging out the exit area, laying on his side, and clapping!

Instead of using the exit to exit Logan tries to climb over and out of his firetruck and sometimes even ends up tipping the firetruck over! He doesn't seem to mind either!

And we do the same to get back in the firetruck, as seen below:

Or he uses it to lounge out and take a break from all the playing, crawling, and walking!

I love him! This was one of the best Christmas presents a little boy could've ever received! He loves sitting in it, playing in it, and throwing the balls out of it!! It's also fun to watch him play in it and take pics of all the new stuff he does!

New Moon

Good morning!  So I've just finished Lauren Conrad's book (L.A. Candy) and it was a quick, young adult read.  My next book is New Moon.  I'm not a die hard Twilight fan and I tend not to follow pop culture hype, just like when the Notebook came out, I didn't rush out to read the book or watch the movie, and I still haven't.  The Twilight hype was/is somewhat annoying and has brought back vampires & werewolves to the literary scene, but I digress, because I'm finally getting around to reading New Moon.  I borrowed it from the future MIL and have had it for months now!  I haven't been able to get into it.  I borrowed Twilight from one of my girlfriend's daughters and held on to it for over a year before I sucked it up and started it.  I saw the movie Twilight and was not impressed, which is okay because neither were alot of other "die-hard" fans. So without further delay I will start New Moon so that I can give it back and to make myself feel like I didn't waste anyones time holding on to it!

Rings Rings Rings ♥

It's been 3 days since I've last posted but honestly I haven't been able to come up with a single witty thing! I'm not sure if I can attribute that to writer's block or to the fact that my life right now is pretty uneventful.  I'm thinking the latter.  I've tried to research some possible home decor or clothing styles that I would like but I wasn't really good at either.

Saturday me and the beau went engagement ring shopping, and I could've potentially written about that but I would most rather write about the engagement itself =)  Anyways we went to Jareds (haha yes he went to Jared's...just like the commercial!) and I picked out 2 different vintage style rings.

This was one of the rings..
It was wayyyy different from the Tacori ring I picked out.  The Tacori ring was THE ring but it was a tad bit to much dinero and therefore I will not be getting THE ring.  I've come to terms with that, lol, and so that's why we ended up at Jared's again...

This was the Tacori ring (THE RING)

Oh yes 1 year ago we were there picking out one of the rings I thought was THE one! But it wasn't...I couldn't believe how time changed my style. This realization brought fear that after a while my b/f would purchase a ring (at my request) and I would fall out of love with it. So I told him to buy what he wanted and not to tell me anymore because I would love whatever he proposed with.

This was the ring I "loved" last year!

Logan is 10 Months Old Today

It's hard to believe that 10 months ago I gave birth to the healthiest and most beautiful baby boy! He's been the greatest gift life has to offer.  I've become more patient, more understanding, more tolerant and most of all I finally was able to understand the phrase of "a mother's love".  I couldn't be more thankful. I love Logan ♥

I Dream of Kitchen....

So Chris sent his resume out to Memphis yesterday and like any girl with an outdated kitchen I dreamed of a home with an updated kitchen and LOTS AND LOTS of cabinet space and drawers! My kitchen is the size of someone's master bathroom. there's one little drawer that doesn't fit anything ...My utensils are visible to the outside world and so are my pots. The range is the storage area for the pots. Counterspace is nil and the cabinets I do have are small.  Don't get me wrong I'm extremely grateful for even having a kitchen at all but a girl can dream.

Of course it wouldn't be exactly like this, there would be some modifications...lol...but this is the size and the appearance of something I would like in a home.  I can cook for my family and we can have a place that we can all come together. I know everywhere I go the kitchen is usually the place to "hang" now.  This is, for now, just a dream.  Hopefully one day my dream can be realized.
**Note: I changed it from the cherry wood to this French country style...I'm loving this with vintage-y things =) **

A Little Piece for Hope.

This was my Christmas present from Chris. It's part of Zales' collection called Shared Heart.  $5 from each item purchased from the collection goes towards Autism Speaks, an organization that conducts research for this disorder. So I'm happy that I got a beautiful piece but also that his purchase for me will also donate help for someone else.

I love Snow!

It's really late and I really should be asleep =) but there's snow in the forecast and who doesn't LOVE snow! I love when it falls and when it's been untouched...I'm not a fan of driving in it or looking at the exhaust fumed covered snow (blackened snow) but I like that first cover and watching it fall.

The weekend before Christmas we had a blizzard...literally and this is what it looked it like!

Our cars were covered and I fell into it barely to be seen. It was fun and it was deep. If it wasn't so late me and Chris probably would've had a snow ball fight. =) Hopefully it's a white wintry scene tomorrow...well today!

It's a New Year!

Happy 2010 everyone! I'm hoping to make this more fun and interesting I've been browsing through blogs and I think I know how to finally do this! But for now I gotta Wii (Active) before the boy wakes up! Now that he's walking and crawling nap times are my reprieve!
