I've actually, also, never read the books. So seeing the the promo made me want to read the books too. Unfortunately, J.K. Rowling has not permitted her books to be converted to a digital format for the Nook (or any e-reader) so I borrowed my sister's set and I'm already on book two! I also watched Years 1-2 today on DVD while I was cleaning! Ha! Can we say addicted?! This, coming from the girl who didn't jump on the HP hype when it had started! Better late than never, I say!

I can't even believe it, but, I'm hooked on Harry Potter. I was watching Access Hollywood Live the other day and they showed the promo for the new Harry Potter Part 1 (which can I say looks pretty amazing)! Part 1 comes out in November and Part 2 comes out next year.

This weekend was far from fall like for us! On Saturday we attended the Ovarian Cancer Awareness Foundation's 3rd Annual walk at Shelby Farms in memory of Mary Frances, Chris' friend's mom! They had an awersome turn out, even though, it was HOT!! The end of the walk was pretty emotional, with the releasing of doves, which I didn't know was going to be there! They had 15 survivors walking and they also released the doves! I teared up!
Team Mary Frances-Memphis!
Driving in his car.
Sunday was pretty much a relatively lazy day! We spent the whole day at home and caught up on the domestic needs. I'm down to just ONE box that needs to be unpacked! It's about darn time!! Although it was 97 degrees outside, inside it was as fall as fall gets. Chris cooked up some chicken soup in the crock, which smelled delish, add the smells of cookies and fall candles, and one would've thought it was 70 degrees outside! I'm hoping fall gets to TN soon because I'm homesick for some New England fall!

No matter how you say, 18 months or 1 1/2 years old, the point is Logan's getting older, bigger, more independent. I believe I say this EVERY age blog I do but it's the truth! I try to capture him every single day!
This was Logan last year around this time!
This is him now! 18 Months Old!
From sweet and just learning how to sit to an active, rough & tumble, little boy!
So what have you been up to:
- You're 26 lbs. 10 oz., and 32 1/4" long (you're at the 50th percentile)
- You've had you're last series of shots!! None needed again til you're 5 years old (excluding flu shots)
- You're still NOT talking!
- You've produced 3 teeth in 1 month!!
- You love to color!
- Your going through a "poop in the tub" phase! Gross.
- You've taken a liking to napping in my bed again!
- You love animals!
- You've mastered drinking out of juice boxes!
- You are starting to become afraid of things (Ex. Jack Black on Yo Gabba Gabba or the drs. office)
- You're still deciding on whether to be left or right handed even though you do things with both
- You're great-grandmother introduced you to candy!!! AH!
That's all I can think of right now! I know that there are more, minor milestones you are continuing to improve on with each passing day! I just can only hope to give you the best life ever and to help you be the best that you can be! I love you Logan Christopher! Thank you for 1 1/2 years worth of memories, tears, experience, fun and love! ♥

That's what we all were this weekend: busy bees!! This weekend was full of being outdoors and it was great to be outside since we've suffered some pretty HOT temps this summer! Saturday we spent most of the day at the Delta Fair at the Agricenter! It was a rainy, cloudy morning and early afternoon but it was PERFECT, for me at least. For a county fair it was definitely bigger than some that I've been too! The amount of rides and carnival games, I felt like I was at an amusement park! Unfortunately, Logan was only able to really go on a few rides so we bought enough tickets for those rides and he had a blast!! He went on the Merry Go Round twice (he flipped out after we took him off and the attendant let him go for another round) and then he went on some Ducky/Boat ride! He went on that twice too!!
Logan with the penguin that we paid $10 dollars for playing a game!
Bob Bohm's Magic Show!
So the Delta Fair also has a petting zoo area and as soon as we entered Logan threw his hands up to the animals to touch them! So Chris bought some feed to feed them and whereas I thought it was icky, Logan LOVED it!!! He was shrieking and kept throwing out his hand even if he didn't have any food!
We had lunch and then left bc Logan was getting antsy!
I decided to go over to Eclectica and join the SNL group!! So much fun and we made such amazing layouts, I'll have to post about them later!
(My festival purchases)
One of the businesses we talked with, Spring River Candles, located in Hardy, AR, actually recycles wine, champagne, and beer bottles and flattens them to make them cheese platters, spoon holders, bowls, or wall art!! So as you can see I bought one, after much debate with my own voice of reason! The wires for the flowers can't come out but the flowers can be changed! I was so intrigued by her work that I wanted to buy more but she only had dark bottles left! That candle was also made by them!
The Weenie Dog Race
It was such a beautiful day but the son was HOT! So we went home and just relaxed! Chris and I ended our weekend with a walk and a game of Scrabble! He cheated as you can see!
(He used the word "haven't" and the names "Zach" and "Arod". The name Ryan was my attempt at retaliation but I felt guilty knowing I wasn't any better!)

I received in the mail the other day my Ikea Catalog but had put it on the side table for almost a week because I've been working and sleeping and doing life! Last night I picked it up and now the book has so many folds because of all the things I want! Ha! So I'm just gonna share some of my faves for an easy breezy Friday post!
Love this swivel chair!!!

Has anyone seen this movie? It came out Mother's Day weekend and only to a select theaters but I got to see it last week on OnDemand and I thought it was the cutest thing ever! I love that they took babies from different regions of the world and documented how they were each being raised in their first two years of life and their cultural differences! It's not a movie with commentary, unfortunately. I definitely would've loved some commentary to explain some of the cultural differences going on. There is some maternal nudity in the video, which, shows how babies are feeding almost constantly but it's not a sexual type of nudity and there are NO down below labor shots! Whew! My favorite baby (am I allowed a favorite?) was Bayar! He had the cutest cheeks and the prettiest hair!! I definitely would recommend this movie to sociologists, cultural anthropologists, mothers, and anyone who likes documentaries!

When did my son become a Daddy's boy
And cry when he walked out the front door for work?
(This is obviously an old pic, but I can't seem to find my camera, AGAIN!)
When did my son decide that he no longer wanted to give his mommy kisses
Or no longer cried when I walked out the door for work?
When did he decide that he didn't want to be held
And squirmed like hell to be freed?
When & how did this happen
Right underneath my nose?
I really hope it's a phase!
I don't like this new big boy phase we're going through
I miss my Momma's boy
I miss my kisses
I miss holding my baby and cuddling with him
I love that he loves his Daddy but Momma's still here too!

I love Labor Day weekend! It's never long enough but it is the unofficial end of summer! Chris and I went to New Orleans for the weekend and I'll be posting about the weekend sometime this week but I just had to share this:
We went to one of many antique shop and this was my absolute favorite find! It was an orange with gold paisley and with a turquoise wood framed carved so beautifully! I would loved to have this and its pair in my sunroom but with a price tag of $5,900.00 (yes, you read that right) I could only admire and sit in it, of course! We saw so many lovely (expensive) things and it made me want to "be a billionaire so freakin' bad" (song lyrics, ha!). One of the shops we went into greeted us and told us that we didn't have to buy the exact ones in the shop, but that we could special order something and have it to us in 8 weeks! Amazing treatment and gorgeous stuff! Even if you can't afford the items you should still go in and experience the history and the beauty of these items, even if the price tag makes your heart race and your mouth drop! Ha!♥

Do you see that thing in my son's mouth?
Well she's the other mother!
I'm completely serious!!
We call her Binky!
I find her in my room
Or in my kitchen
I've also found her on the floor, in the bags, in the car, in and behind the crib!
I find her everywhere!!
And where I, once, appreciated her comfort and her ability to quite my child
I now no longer like her!
She's keeps my son from talking
Logan has even called it "Momma" yesterday!
I'm really over her being in EVERY picture
I've tried to limit her use to nap time and bed time ONLY
But sometimes I fail because it's the only thing that will console him!
I want to get rid of her but she's also my crutch, damn BINKY!
Is 17 months too soon or too late?
Getting rid of Mr. Bottle wasn't half as hard as this!

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. I discussed it a little bit in a previous post but I feel it deserves it's on post only because awareness for this disease is KEY! I've been fortunate enough to not have been affected directly by this but I've known people who have been affected! I've walked in walks with families who have been and I've learned about this disease because of these walks!
(Georgetown Cupcakes in DC! They look yummy!)
