SUYL- A Low Key But Still Romantic Engagment

Show Us Your Life this week is about proposal stories! You can read the longer version about my engagement here.  Our engagment was very low key. Originally it was supposed to have been done on a horse drawn carriage here in Memphis, when we came to visit and look for a home. Mother nature had a different plan and gave us lots of snow in NJ causing the stores and the jewelery store to close, which he was completely upset and mad about. Nonetheless, when we came back he went and picked it up (note: I didn't know about any of this, though I had an inkling, until after we got engaged). He looked excited that night when I got home from work but I didn't know why. Until midnight of course. When he asked me to marry him, in bed, being all silly. It was perfect for us because we're silly together although he did get alot of heat about it from his family later! We didn't take any pictures of our engagment that night but when we got to Memphis we had my mom take some at the Botanical Gardens. I wasn't really dressed for them though so I think we'll try again but my favorite was this one:

IT'S OFFICIAL I'M ENGAGED!!!!

AHHH! I'm sooo excited! There were tears involved and complete pure happiness! I'm in love, with Chris, of course but also my new ring!!! There's no big story but it's still a night I'm going to remember!  Apparently Chris wanted to propose while we were in Memphis but the snow closed the store early on Thursday and was closed all day on Friday. So last night when I got home Chris made me Chicken nuggets and couscous for dinner! We played with Logan put him to bed and then went to bed ourselves. 

This is how it went, bear with me, lol
Chris: "I bought you something and it's in the house somewhere"
Me: "Is it in your briefcase?"
Chris: "Maybe"
----I checked----Found nothing.
Me: "It's not in there"
Chris: "Keep looking.
----My next move is looking in his closet----I look & don't find, but I'm short so I grab a container of clothes and step on it to look on the top and FOUND A BAG!!!
Me: "I found it!!"
Chris: "Don't take it down"
Me: "Please, please (with my hands clasped)...That's so wrong"
----I take it down and bring it to our bed----
Chris: "You can't have it yet"
----My dear, now, fiance, makes me watch an episode of Modern Marvels on SALT and the whole while he's snoring!!----
Me: "Soooo I watched while you slept can I open it"
Chris: "Do you really want to?"
Me: "YES!!!"
Chris: "Do you want to be a Park?"
----At this point I'm crying and hugging him----
Chris: "I guess you don't. Ok I'll take this back"
Me: "No nO NO!"
Chris: "Are you sure you want to be a Park?"
Me: "Yes! Are you sure you want to marry me?"
Chris: "Well if I wasn't do you think I'd go through all this trouble?"
Me: "Duh, no! lol"
Me: "Yes!!!!"
----Chris opens it and does a little version of what Richard Gere does to Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman with the box and than slips this gorgeous ring on my finger----

And yes he went to Jared's!!! LOL.

Since it happened at midnight we didn't take any couple engaged pictures but I told him we had to do it tonight and he agreed so I'll update later ♥ xo

Engagment soon, Possibly?! AHHH!

Today is a dreary day, Logan has been sleeping unusually long and I really should be getting everything ready because well I need to leave for work soon but I need to post this somewhere.  Chris left his phone home yesterday in his haste to leave for work. He told me his cousin would be coming over to pick up his fire pager.  So ok no biggie! The phone rings an hour or so after that and I didn't answer it but did call Chris at work to tell him to call it in the event that it was his cousin. They left a voice mail but I didn't check it, even though, Chris asked me if I did. So I got a little curious and decided I would check the vm and if it was his cousin I would just tell him to come over. Well I listened! It was NOT his cousin, but a jewelery store!!!!!!  I quickly hung up with my chest pounding! I couldn't believe it! He really did it! Now I just have to wait, patiently, careful not to talk about it. We're supposed to be going to Memphis this weekend so I wonder...Who knows! But I'm EXCITED!!!

Rings Rings Rings ♥

It's been 3 days since I've last posted but honestly I haven't been able to come up with a single witty thing! I'm not sure if I can attribute that to writer's block or to the fact that my life right now is pretty uneventful.  I'm thinking the latter.  I've tried to research some possible home decor or clothing styles that I would like but I wasn't really good at either. 

Saturday me and the beau went engagement ring shopping, and I could've potentially written about that but I would most rather write about the engagement itself =)  Anyways we went to Jareds (haha yes he went to Jared's...just like the commercial!) and I picked out 2 different vintage style rings.

It was wayyyy different from the Tacori ring I picked out.  The Tacori ring was THE ring but it was a tad bit to much dinero and therefore I will not be getting THE ring.  I've come to terms with that, lol, and so that's why we ended up at Jared's again...

Oh yes 1 year ago we were there picking out one of the rings I thought was THE one! But it wasn't...I couldn't believe how time changed my style. This realization brought fear that after a while my b/f would purchase a ring (at my request) and I would fall out of love with it. So I told him to buy what he wanted and not to tell me anymore because I would love whatever he proposed with.
