I finished my first book on the Nook.

It was ok.

Sooo...

Days are getting progressively closer and closer to moving day and time seems to be going faster because nothing is really done. Only 7 total boxes have been packed! I've been enjoying being home and trying to cram in play dates and get togethers because soon they'll be far and few between. It's also been really nice and who wants to spend it inside packing!? Certainly not I. But alas, I must, because this move is happening and we do need to be on our way!

Anywho, we've bought a new car too. The 2010 Toyota Venza, their version of a crossover (which I'm starting to think is a new term for station wagon!). I love it. It drives like a car, doesn't look like a station wagon, but has the space of an SUV. I wanted a Lexus but Chris said not yet. So we went for this and I'm okay with that. I wanted red, but they sold out. I wanted black next but Chris said silver was probably best at hiding dirt and scratches, so silver it was! When I take a picture of it I'll post it up!

I think I've also decided that a NJ wedding is what I ultimately want! Outdoors in the fall near the beach. Destination wedding is probably cheaper, but I'm counting on this being my only wedding and I want our families to be a part of it. So I'll be looking at two venues, maybe, today, hopefully, this week! I'm excited!! It's gonna be tough planning a NJ wedding in TN but I'll probably have fun with it!! And that's all I got for you guys to sum up my past week. I'll make the next post fun =)

My "Quilted" Pink-er Upper!

So the other day I was writing out the envelopes for Thank You cards when I noticed that my FAVORITE address book suffered a mishap. Now it may seem odd for someone to have a favorite address book but this one I've had since the beginning of college. It had a front and back cover of a serene beach scene with a girl holding on to her hat in the breeze. I loved everything about it. Unfortunately someone spilled something on it and didn't dry it (probably didn't even realize it) but in any case it developed some mold in the back. So, with a heavy heart, into the trash it went. I had to have a new one, especially with pages torn out and addresses no longer secured in a book I went to B&N and found this one:

While I was at B&N I played with the Nook! I'm really liking them, although, it means I would have to shop and compare prices before buying! I don't want to completely phase out actually touching a book.

Weekend Highlights

So my weekend was supposed to be eventful and turned out to not be so eventful but no biggie! It was better that way. Saturday I scrapped with my future step-MIL and Cousin In Law =) and then went out to Downtown in Red Bank with a couple of friends.

Sunday was supposed to be laden with visits and dinners and instead we ended up having dinner cancelled but Chris' mom and her husband came to visit and see Logan and then Chris' friend, Josh, who he hasn't seen in years, came by to visit and meet me and Logan =) It was nice to see Chris with one of his "besties". For dinner, instead, we had hamburger helper. Logan had Pasta Stars and boy oh boy did he make a mess!!!

Later that evening we took a trip to Target!! I love Target. I was going there to get March's issue of Real Simple (yes, I know, I should take out a subscription). While we were there we bought Logan the Laurie Berkner CD. He loves her on NickJr and most of the songs on TV are on the CD!

I also bought, which was THE highlight of my ENTIRE weekend, and yes it's SAD, a flatware organizer!!!! It was much needed as you will soon see!

Our place has a very small kitchen with few cabinets and just one itty bitty drawer...One that's not made for utensils, so we improvised using the plastic lasagna storage thing as our flatware holder. Yeah it was a sight for sore eyes! So, hence, after a year or so we FINALLY bought an actual flatware organizer and today I feel much better!

My other highlight of the weekend was getting my Children's Place PerksCard in the mail! When I asked about it the store told me that people were randomly selected to receive them, it wasn't something you could sign up for. Albeit my disappointment I continued to shop there for Logan's clothes and I finally received one! Woo!!!

Snapshot of Jan/Feb 2010

I follow a lot of blogs especially ones that deal with moms and decorating because I'm a mom myself and when we move I really hope to be able to decorate the rooms to my new place in fun but practical and comfortable.  One of the blogs I read got this idea to do a snapshot of life up to now, sorta! It's more a reflection so I'm gonna try it on this snowy day! I wanted to post about our snowstorm but I haven't gone out there yet!

2010 Snapshot:

• Logan is our only child, he's sweet and lovable but comes with a temper!
• I love to watch our baby snuggle his blankie
• Chris and I have been together 1 1/2 years
• The boy is walking everywhere!!!
• Logan loves Moose A. Moose and Zee (NickJr)
• Chris got his promotion!
• I still play video games
• Saturdays are my favorite lazy day but Sundays are always my favorite family day and my favorite day in general
• Logan says "Ma-Ma" more than "Da-Da"
• The b/f and I are still not engaged (ha)
• My job is actually fun, even though, we still get wacky people
• I recently hoped that I was having #2 but kind of relieved when that didn't happen
• I have every song memorized on Nick Jr.; Chris has memorized the Wonder Pets song!
• My favorite piece of jewelery is my Pandora bracelet that's still at Chris' cousins house!
• I still check on Logan like 5-6 times a night before I go to bed.
• I give my baby kisses like it's going out of style
• I love to read books to Logan even though he's always grabbing at them!
• I love my family always =)

Real Simple is my all time favorite magazine...It's got a little bit of everything from how to save money, to how to decorate, to food, etc.  I love it so much I even pay the cover price for it!  I really do need a subscription.  So recently I've seen their last 3 issues do a whole How to Decorate With (insert color here).  December they did brown, January was purple and February is (SURPRISE) red.  So here's some stuff that I like in red!

Simple Pleasures

I spent an entire, well almost entire, day in my bed under the covers watching movies and reading today!!!! Snowfall, dinner and a Barnes and Noble run with Chris ended the perfect night. I miss Logan soo much and I can't wait to pick him up tomorrow!! I picked up the current issues of Parent and House & Home, not to mention I got the recent Parenting mag in the mail! I'm in love with magazines right now, and I don't know why. I even got to finish my book, giving me the opportunity to start another one tomorrow.   We were supposed to go to Smithville tomorrow, but with the snow that they got down there and the FREEZING cold, we skipped the idea...We'll just have to go another time.  I'm scrapping tomorrow, so when I'm done with the finished project I will post it up =) Nite.

It's a New Year!

Happy 2010 everyone! I'm hoping to make this more fun and interesting I've been browsing through blogs and I think I know how to finally do this! But for now I gotta Wii (Active) before the boy wakes up! Now that he's walking and crawling nap times are my reprieve!

More Like Happy Winter...

It's been a while since I've blogged. I apparently suck at it LOL. Whatever I'll keep blogging away anyways... So since Sept./Oct. life has obviously kept going.  Logan went trick or treating for halloween as a little scarecrow! He was to freakin' cute!  Thanksgiving was fun. I tried to give the lil one some potatoes and such but he wasn't a fan...until Christmas.  We all went out to see my mom and lemme tell you how lonnnnggg that drive was!! Totally worth it tho! My family was sooo happy we came and Logan actually wanted to eat potatoes and sweet potatoes this time...He even tried cranberry sauce =) yummie!  It's a snowy day on this New Year's Eve.  Have a happy and safe new year anyone who comes across this and reads this. XO

It's windy and cloudy, time to update!

So far, in my new endeavor on blogger, I'm still not where I would like to be at but that's okay I'm still just beginning. I decided, the other day, to make a london broil in the oven! I overcooked it a little but I'm sure it would've been delicious otherwise, and yes, it wasn't that bad just a little tough.


Over Labor Day weekend I also scrapbooked with my b/f's step-mother.  I'll have to post the pages that I did up soon. They came out really good =) I didn't get a chance to play with the new scrap pages of the month but I'm supposed to be going down there again so maybe then I'll play with those!


Logan has been a pain in the butt as of lately.  Yesterday he was a little monster but I still love him just the same...I'm not a fan, however, of his new scream! He screams rather than cries and it goes right through you!!!!   Alright so my son is doing that whole scream thing RIGHT NOW and I think it's time for a nap!!! Happy blogging!

Brand Spankin' New!

So I've deleted all previous posts and I'm starting over! Not like there was much to begin with before but I'm gonna try to keep up. I do the Facebook and MySpace and really feel it's the root of all personal and private dramas and needed a place to feel more like a human connecting with other humans that have common interests.  I think most of this blog will act like a book club sometimes, then maybe throwing out some scrapbook pages that I've done and maybe even act like my personal punching bag for those days that I need to vent. My son is the most important thing in my life and I'm always feeling guarded about talking about him to much because I know alot of people really don't want to hear it so I'm going to use this to gush about my little man and his milestones and whatnot! I really want this to be fun. Happy bloggin.
