What would've cost close to $200 was only about $75! How amazing! And I bought my first cookbook (how sad, haha)! I want to start working on a collection of sorts for the new kitchen that is light years away from being conceived! Anywho, I went through the cookbook this morning and was looking for a banana bread recipe, because we have some very ripe bananas on the counter, and I found one for chocolate muffins! Can't wait to see how good Nigella's recipe works! Up next, chocolate banana muffins! xo

Chocolate Banana Muffin-time!
Last year HarperCollins Publishers did 65% off of their books for employees employed by News Corporation, for the holiday (thank you!) I'm sure they do it every holiday but last year was the first year I knew about it. Anyways, this year I took full advantage of the 65% discount and lookie at what came in the mail for moi!

Happy Belated Easter!
Happy Belated Easter everyone!! Hope everyone enjoyed the day with family, friends, and good food! This year was pretty low key and it felt good and weird at the same time! Good to just relax and weird because it was just the 3 of us.
Last night after Logan went to bed, Chris and I watched "The King's Speech".
I really did love this movie. I loved that the King had such doubts about himself because of his speech impediment and because of it all, ultimately, made a friend in the end. Now I wasn't sure if this movie was inspired by true events but it actually is. I didn't watch this movie because of the impending royal wedding, coincidence, that I chose this week to watch it, but if you like royalty, history, or LOVE Colin Firth (like I do) I think you'll like this movie too!
Speaking of movies, I want to see Water for Elephants, badly!! Which means I may need to find a reliable babysitter around these parts and read the book! Which I'm currently doing and so far so good =)
On a completely different note, tomorrow marks my halfway mark through pregnancy! Woo for 20 weeks! When we found out that someone else would be joining our family I had a lot of thoughts about what I wanted in the future and after. I was determined not to find out what the gender of the baby is but I have no will power for that! Ha! So I'll be finding out what this little bundle of baby is! I'm itching to pull stuff out and/or buy new things!! I think I get a comprehensive ultrasound around this time too! So excited to see what everything's looking like. It's been a little weird not having an ultrasound every week, like I did with Logan, so maybe that's why I'm a little more anxious and excited!
Sorry for all the randomness, haha, I promise next time to make it a 10 on Tuesday or at least warn you ahead of time! ♥ Have a great week!

Contract Pending..Yikes!
We got our contract on the house yesterday! There's something exciting and daunting about seeing
online, next to the house you're going to buy. Half of me is excited and tickled to pieces about this new adventure, while the other half of me is dredging up every little bit of "what ifs". I keep pushing that half back down. It's only going to feel more real after we do our inspection, which is THIS Friday! I honestly thought they did inspections closer to closing time but that doesn't seem to be the case.
In other non-house related news UPS came to my house last night and dropped off a box with these wonderful titles in it:
Now I know I have a Nook and I rave about it ALL the time but you I just couldn't pass up a deal when it presents itself. HarperCollins has an advantage program for News Corp. and its sister companies employees and thank you Chris for having a job with one of their companies because I was able to get 65% off the cover prices for all these books. So instead of paying $68 and change I paid 27 and change! You just can't beat it! So I'll have to alternate between reading books (old school) and reading them on my Nook! Plus once I'm done with the books I can hand them down to friends who want to read them too. Who knows when I'm gonna get to read though. I need to be packing and painting and then unpacking and painting! Ha!

HP!
I can't even believe it, but, I'm hooked on Harry Potter. I was watching Access Hollywood Live the other day and they showed the promo for the new Harry Potter Part 1 (which can I say looks pretty amazing)! Part 1 comes out in November and Part 2 comes out next year.
I've actually, also, never read the books. So seeing the the promo made me want to read the books too. Unfortunately, J.K. Rowling has not permitted her books to be converted to a digital format for the Nook (or any e-reader) so I borrowed my sister's set and I'm already on book two! I also watched Years 1-2 today on DVD while I was cleaning! Ha! Can we say addicted?! This, coming from the girl who didn't jump on the HP hype when it had started! Better late than never, I say!

Fall Book List!
One of my very favorite pasttimes is reading. I can read a book in one day or drag it out for a month, but the latter usually never happens! Since my summer reading list wasn't that impressive I decided to compile a list of books that I would very much like to try and get through for the fall! Without further ado here it is:
It's a tall order, I know, but they can always carry over into winter =)

Little Pink Raincoat
I needed to read something light! All of the books I've recently bought have been really deep or thought provoking, and Alice in Wonderland was a bit confusing and took me longer than expected to start (plus I lost it on the plane because I left it there) so I bought Men May Come and Men Mayb Go But I've Still Got My Little Pink Raincoat (whew!). I started it on the plane home and I was laughing hysterically (and I'm only on page 18). I'm dying to get back to it but haven't had time to!!
So in honor of this book, here are some cute pink, and not so pink, raincoats!

Just Another Manic Monday....
So my poor baby boy has a double ear infection!!! I'm so upset. He seems to always be getting sick and I hate it. I'm staying home with my baby today to make sure he rests and just takes it easy.
What I'm currently reading: The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. It's a about a girls mental breakdown during the 1950s. So far it's been a bit peculiar but a fast read nonetheless. I put on order a bunch of Christopher Moore books...I'm so obsessed lol. Anyways that's what has been going on during this manic Monday.
Update: This book hasn't been all it was cracked up to be in my mind but I continue to read it...I'll start again tonight**

Christopher Moore
I read tons and tons and tons of books! I love reading it's one of my favorite things in the world. It's the outlet for imagination and whatnot. I usually don't have favorite authors because I tend to read whatever strikes me as a cool cover (yes, I'm the one that judges books, literal ones, by their cover). I have to say though that I do have at least one favorite author and that's Christopher Moore. I loved the one book I read by him called Lamb. I felt weird reading it at first because of the topic but when I started reading it I felt various emotions and not one was weird or sad or ashamed. This book made me feel closer to Jesus than any CCD session had, but I warn you, if you want to read this book you have to keep an open mind. Moore portrays Jesus as a teenager and early twenty-something trying to identify with who he is and what he must do. He has the character say things that some people would downright consider blasphemous but it is simply another person's view of what could've been. The next book I'm reading is on a completely different topic and I think I chose it because I just came off of reading New Moon. It's called Bloodsucking Fiends, hopefully I'll see the same humor and wit as I did with the book I previously read by Moore.

New Moon
Good morning! So I've just finished Lauren Conrad's book (L.A. Candy) and it was a quick, young adult read. My next book is New Moon. I'm not a die hard Twilight fan and I tend not to follow pop culture hype, just like when the Notebook came out, I didn't rush out to read the book or watch the movie, and I still haven't. The Twilight hype was/is somewhat annoying and has brought back vampires & werewolves to the literary scene, but I digress, because I'm finally getting around to reading New Moon. I borrowed it from the future MIL and have had it for months now! I haven't been able to get into it. I borrowed Twilight from one of my girlfriend's daughters and held on to it for over a year before I sucked it up and started it. I saw the movie Twilight and was not impressed, which is okay because neither were alot of other "die-hard" fans. So without further delay I will start New Moon so that I can give it back and to make myself feel like I didn't waste anyones time holding on to it!
