Christmas Layout

I just got around to scrapping Christmas from last year, which was Logan's 1st Christmas. We had about 3 first Christmases with Logan and tons of fun just watching him interact with his family.  I scrapped "Christmas with the Parks" a few months back so here is Christmas 2009.

"Merriest Day"

How cute are the tags?! They were a bit of work but they are cute.

Supplies Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: We R Memory Keepers:
White Christmas "Winter Mittens", "Ho Ho Ho", "Wrapping Paper",
& "Santa's Helpers"; Embellishments: Ribbon: CTMH in Cocoa;
Glitter Brad: American Crafts; Accessory sheet: My Mind's Eye-
The Merry Days of Christmas; Layout credit: CTMH Magic
by Jeanette Lynton "Final Act"

I still have Logan's meet with Santa and another Christmas with the family layout to do! Then, I can possibly go back and finish our hospital pics and months 3-11!

Flap Explosion!

Yesterday we had another rainy equaling a perfect scrapbooking day. I have a whole mess of pictures to scrap, and I really thought I'd get to at least a few themes (topics) but instead I got held up on Logan's baptism pictures. Close to My Heart released add on flaps that attach to a page protector and it looked simple enough but it was way more tedious than I had expected. With that said I spent most of yesterday's and today's free time on it! Paper used is Emporium by Close to My Heart, ink was Color Box Chalk Ink in Chestnut Roan & embellishments are Emportium (CTMH) stickers. Here are the finished results:

Looks like a page!
What it says: Grandparents make the world go 'round.
Logan is lucky to have such loving grandparents!

Opens up like a book! Wait, we're not done yet!

Fold up/down the two yellow pages and voila, flap explosion!
It's still incomplete but hopefully after Christmas we can change that!

Close up 1! Logan with godparents

Close up 2:
What is says:  "Let the little children come to me, and
do not stop them; for it is such as these
that the kingdom of Heaven belongs"

(sorry for the lightness)
Close up 3: Logan with his uncle & Chris

Close up 4:
What is says: (Top) "The Great God between your two
shoulder blades to protect you in this life,
The Son of the Virgin Mary be close to your heart,
and the perfect Holy Spirit keep you in His care."

Our children teach us what life is all about"

I love each and every one that I did! I absolutely love the picture of Chris with his two closest friends! The most tedious layout I did was the "Sisters" one. That included alot of tracing & cutting but it turned out really well, not perfect, but really well! I was happy with the outcome! I really need to invest in an easel, as you can see, I used my laptop and my couch as easels! Ha! I also hope Santa pulls through and gets me a Cricket or a Silhouette because all of these pages need titles!!

Snow Layout?

I know, I know, August isn't even finished and, not only does my new blog layout look like Fall, but here I am working on snow layouts.  I had the pics and I found the cutest kit at Eclectica and I had to do it!

"Playing in the Snow"
(Paper collection is Eskimo Kisses)

Mine is a little different in that I didn't have a distresser and the person who put the kit together did. The distresser did give it a little more dimension but it doesn't make or break the layout so you don't necessarily need to do it! When I was finished with these two pages, I had more than enough material to put together another page!

How cute is the deer?! I wanted to incorporate it somehow and I was able to do here!
Next LOs: Valentine's Day & the St. Patrick's Day parade!

Scrap Pages!

I thought I had posted previously about how scrapbooking like crazy but it appears I didn't or I just can't find it...Anywho, after I came home from New Orleans I had this urge to just scrap! I did about 4 or 5 layouts and I'm still working I'm some others. They're not complete because they lack titles. Maybe they'll have some after Christmas if Santa delivers a Cricut or Silhouette!! Ha!

"Cutest Lil' Scarecrow"
(Logan's 1st Halloween)
Materials: Spooked Stars by My Mind's Eye, Halloween Harvest by Stemma; Stickers- Bat Chain by Stampendous, Bazzil cardstock

"Born in the USA"
(Logan's 1st 4th/Boatride)
Materials: Starburst Translucent Red by The Paper Co., Star Paper by Creative Imaginations/Helen Dardik, Ribbon, & Chunky Brads by Doodlebug Design Inc., Cardstock

"Christmas with the Parks"
(Logan's 1st Christmas Party)
This paper was actually a personalized. It was created by a scrap store called Scrap it Simple, located in Spencer, Massachusetts.  My future MIL got this for me at crop she went to. I loved it and this is my favorite layout. The one cardstock had the family last name on it and the other had Logan's name on it, which I used to fill in the ornaments!! Such a fun kit to display Logan's first family Christmas party!

"Beach"
(Logan's 1st trip to the Shore)
Materials: "On the Boardwalk Collection" by Graphic 45, Black & Orange cardstock
This layout is my 2nd favorite!

"Snip It"
(Logan's 1st Haircut)
Materials: "Brilliant" kit by Dreamy 2/My Mind's Eye, "So Handome" Refreshing Green & "Brothers" Seeing Stars.

The layout format for the first 2 layouts were taken from the magazine Creative Keepsakes (April 2010). The Christmas kit came with a suggestive layout that I used with a few tweaks here and there.  The "Beach" layout was my own thing that I came up with. It was part of layout of the month at a scrap store I would go to and I didn't like the concept so I went out on my own! The last layout is credited to my blogger friend and scrap instructor Liz. I had taken a class she instructed and she had given us alternate ways to use the layouts we learned that session. One of the alternate ways is the "Snip It" layout! I'm still working on my layouts. Right now I'm doing a zoo layout and LC's 2 month layout! I also hope to get out of my blogging funk that I'm apparently still in. =0)

Needs a Title

I scrapbooked yesterday while I had Chris trapped in the bedroom because his presents were on the coffee table waiting to be opened and waiting for Logan to wake up. A while back, Chris' mom gave us a few pictures of Chris when he was a baby, mostly so we could compare Logan to our baby pictures. I ended up keeping those few pictures and decided to scrap them since I had the perfect paper.

The charred and inked paper was already done for me. It was done at a class back in NJ that I unfortunately missed, so I can't tell you the technique, but I can tell you that the paper was torn and then inked along the edges with black ink.  The paper used was by Stephanie Hunt's collection called "Estate Sale". The flowers were made using newspaper, black ink, and Mod Podge and kept together using brads (and those I made =)

Anyway, how cute was my man!? I see Logan in these pictures in how he's standing, the face he's making, just everything. I'm stumped, though, for a title. I was thinking of "Sweet Kisses" because of the little kiss Chris had received, but I also thought of "Lil' Kisses" and "Young Kisses". Help! =)

365 Days

My little man's first birthday is coming up on Monday. All I can think is "Where did the time go?" and reminisce about his first year. Gosh, I wish I could go back to the days when he was first born and everything was new and not so crazy. It was just me and him and I loved every second of it!

So I saw this scrap page model in a book where I order alot of my kits and paper and needed to make it. Thanks to Chris' step mom she made all the pieces I needed and gave me my "kit", so that I didn't need to spend over $100 on stamps! Here's the almost finished result (I need to write on it somewhere):

The clocks are stamped at the time that Logan was born! There's a smaller picture from the day he was born and a bigger one to commemorate his one year. I tied the ribbon around the month he was born as well! This isn't the exact layout that I saw in the book but it's darn close!

Scrapbook Saturdays

It's been a few days since I lasted posted something and partly because I've been upset about my impending move to Memphis. I'll try better next time ;-).

Yesterday I went and scrapbooked to attempt to destress and it sort of worked. I got 2 pages done Yay!

These pages weren't so hard and they're still missing elements.  I'm going to try and find nautical buttons and put them on the end of the brown striped strips.  Anywho both pages were made using Martha Stewart's School Days Multimedia Pack 12 x 12 Paper (Boys). The letters were done on the Cricut (which I would like to own once I'm down in TN) using the Printing 101 cartridge. I would've liked to have done more but this is all time and Logan would allow for.  Enjoy!

Sundays are made for...

...making a cup of tea, turning on easy listening on the radio, and starting a scrapbook layout.  Since Logan was with his grandparents and Chris was  out for a bit I took advantage of the alone time to finish reading my mags and then start the scrapbook layouts for next month. I started at home and finished at Chris' dads house...Here's the final product (my camera gives these pages no justice)

Taking these pictures reminded me of how badly I need to invest in an easel and/or better camera.  Anyways I used the pictures from the day Logan was born...The technique taught for this layout was using a distressing tool like the one below.
The tool allows the paper to be frayed and curled, which looked further distressed when using a stamp pad (any color...I chose stamp colors Cocoa and Sweet Leaf sold by Close to My Heart).  I used glitter made by Martha Stewart to embellish the butterfly on the second page and Stickle glitter for the butterfly on the first.  The die cuts were made using the Cricket, however, since I didn't cut them myself I don't know which font box was used.
I picked up a copy of House and Home yesterday and fell in love with this fabric:

It's a bit expensive at $215 a yard but I love it...I saw this on a chair that had been upholstered using this fabric!  I wish I could post the chair but I can't find it.  Then I saw these chairs that looked fun and well I loved them too =)  Relaxation and fun are what Sundays were made for ♥
